Objectives

Objectives
Overall Objectives

Clearly show a fishing practice and economic rationale in favor of maintaining sustainable business activity in the Channel and North Sea:

* Meeting the immediate challenges by supporting concrete economic transformation of fishing enterprises.
* Encourage experimentation of the first technological leap in propulsion and power generation fishing vessels.
* Initiate a cultural break in the business of trawling through practices viable alternatives.

Specific objectives

Immediately reduce energy consumption costs of fishing vessels at
least 35%:

* Without diminishing the reliability, safety and operability of existing ships
* Without increasing requirements for technical maintenance at sea
* By integrating the objectives of European air emission reduction from, alternative fuels to diesel now available in Europe.

Budgetary targets

FISHING INNOVATION must solve the horizon of the end of 2010, as part of the project F2E:
The investment on the trawler “LA FREGATE”

* Replacing the drive train and power generation onboard; change in capacity of fuel; adding thrusters, winches and rigging adjustment, upgrading and certification of equipment acquisition inclinations.
* The costs of compensation for partial neutralization of the ship demonstrator and operating risks:
* Work Stoppages and campaigns focusing on innovations, 10 to 12 months accumulated over 3 years: operating safeguards on campaigns: 24 to 36 months)
* The control of the experiment: Crew Training, technical support, uncertainty and extra costs, program management; spin communication.
* The test campaigns.
* Use of “traps” in scale to a profitable and sustainable,
* Liaison with partners experimentation (optimization trawls (UK) and electric fishing (B and NL) Exchange of crews; specialists, assessment, swarming, communication
